Police Report: Man in White Van Tells 11-Year-Old Boy: 'Get the (Expletive) in My Car'

Marion Police responded to an incident of a man attempting to coerce an 11-year-old into his white van on Wednesday.

Yet another alarming incident of a person in a trying to lure a child into the car was reported on Wednesday afternoon in Marion.

A white van pulled up to an 11-year-old boy at about 4 p.m. around the corner of South 15th Street and A Avenue — a little north of — and the man in the van yelled at the child, according to the Gazette citing a Marion police report.

"Get the (expletive) in my car," the unknown man said, according to the Gazette.

The child ran away and was not harmed.

In response to the incident, police say they plan to increase patrols in the area, and the school district urged parents to reinforced safety with their children.

This is the third in a recent string of reports of child abduction attempts or attempts to lure children in or near white vans.

The earliest incident occurred in in July. Police received a report that three people in a white van tried to abduct a child riding his bike, but were stopped by the boy's father.

Days later  said a white van approached a boy and a person in the vehicle asked if he wanted candy. The boy immediately sped off on his bike and escaped unharmed.

Police have not found any connection between the incidents.
