(MAP) See the 70 MPH Police Chase That Started with a Wheelie and Ended in Jail

We've compiled a map detailing the events of a recent motorcycle/police chase that took place this morning around 11:00 a.m.

Cedar Rapids Police say they started following Cedar Rapids resident Theodore Bascom after he performed two consecutive wheelies.

The 80-mile-per-hour chase that ensued when Bascom refused to stop landed Bascum and his passenger, Cedar Rapids resident Krystal Williams, in St. Luke's Hospital and Linn County Jail.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department reports that police saw Bascom pull a wheelie. The officer decided to follow him, and sounded the alarm when he performed another wheelie.

Bascom started speeding alongside another motorcyclist, approaching speeds of 80-miles-per-hour on the south side of Cedar Rapids.

The other motorcyclist gave up the chase, but Bascom only stopped when he crashed on McCarthy Road in Cedar Rapids.

Both were transported to St. Luke's hospital, with non-threatening injuries. Williams, was later released and entered into Linn County Jail after being charged with revocation of probation, child endangerment and interference with official acts.
