Marion City Offices To Close In Observance Of Upcoming Holidays

Marion City Hall and other City offices will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday.

Marion City Hall and other City offices will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Regular business hours resume on Thursday, Dec. 26. City offices will also be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wednesday, Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year’s holiday. Regular business hours resume on Thursday, Jan. 2. Police, fire and other critical City services will continue to be provided.

Marion Public Library will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well as New Year’s Day. The library will be open on New Year’s Eve until 2 p.m.

Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by a day for Wednesday-Friday routes. Collection will instead take place Thursday-Saturday.

The Public Services Department allows one free extra bag of garbage the week following Christmas. Curbside collection of real Christmas trees will be provided Dec. 26 - Jan. 10. Trees, free of stands and decorations, should be placed at the curb on the normal collection day. Flocked trees or those in bags will not be collected.

The Yard Waste Facility and Recycling Drop-off Center (195 35th Street) will be open its regular hours on Saturday, Dec. 21 and Saturday, Dec. 28.

Utility payments will be accepted online or via either drop box located outside Marion City Hall. Drop boxes are located at the building entrance along 6th Avenue and near the 12th Street driveway entrance.
