The City of Marion will host a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 4 p.m. to celebrate the completion and official opening of the community’s first inclusive playground. Located at the south entrance to Lowe Park, 4401 Irish Dr., the playground is designed for children and families of all abilities and ages to enjoy.

In addition, a new restroom facility and pavilion were constructed to complement the structure.
The playground project was among the top priorities outlined in the Lowe Park Master Plan. The City partnered with MSA Professional Services and Tricon General Construction to facilitate design and construction.

The project was funded by local option sales tax (LOST) and a Marion Park and Recreation Foundation capital campaign which raised over $75,000.
