Marion Man Gets 10 Years for Sexual Relationship with 14-Year-Old

Marion reisdent Shawn Wilkerson, 35, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he was convicted of third-degree sexual abuse of a teenage girl.

Court records show that he was sentenced last week on Thursday. Following prison time, he'll be on parole for the rest of his life and will have to be entered in the sex offender registry.

Police said the relationship began in July of 2011 when Wilkerson began writing the girl on Facebook

He requested nude pictures and later picked her up from school to have sex with her, according to First Assistant Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks in a Gazette story.
