Mayor Nicolas AbouAssaly will preside over Marion’s 26th annual State of the City presentation and luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 23. The mayor will review the City’s accomplishments and look ahead to 2020 and beyond during the event at the Cedar Rapids Marriott, 1200 Collins Road NE.

The Marion State of the City is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Linn County with the cooperation of the City of Marion and the support of Marion businesses. The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the presentation will begin at noon.
Tickets are now available. Reservations are $40 per person ($400 for a table of 10) and may be made by contacting Dawn Jones at dawn.lwvlc@gmail.com before Jan. 16. Reservations may also be made online at www.lwvlinncounty.org, additional processing fees apply. Advance payment serves as reservation confirmation.

Funds raised by the Marion State of the City event are used to help the League cover the cost of nonpartisan voter-education materials and forums. Limited free seating, on a reservation basis, will be available to allow individuals to attend and observe the presentation only.
