Marion Teacher Accused Of Ignoring Assault Goes On Trial Today
She allegedly failed to report the sexual abuse of two students for two months, which allowed the acts to continue.

MARION, IA — A trial is set to begin today in Tama County for a Marion teacher charged with failing to report two of her students had been sexually abused. A teenage classroom volunteer was convicted of sexual abuse in the case.
Diane Graham, 59, was a teacher at Starry Elementary School when two students reported to her in August 2016 that they were being abused by the 15-year-old, KCCI reported. Prosecutors say she failed to report the abuse, which allowed it to continue for two months.
Graham's trial originally was scheduled for November. It was moved due to pretrial publicity.
