
Sixteen eastern Iowa counties, including Linn County are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 1 p.m. today.Â
Several parts of eastern Iowa were under a thunderstorm warning until 10:45 a.m. with threats of hail, heavy wind and torrential rain.
Here's today's forecast from the National Weather Service:
- Today:Â Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. South wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Tonight:Â A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. South wind around 10 mph.
