Most Linn County Absentee Requests for Democrats

Absentee ballot requests are overwhelmingly from registered Democrats, according to the Linn County Auditor.

Joel Miller reported that 72 percent of requests are coming from registered Democrats, 22 percent for those without party affiliation and 6 percent from registered Republicans, according to the Gazette.

Miller also said this is double the amount of requests from the 2008 election.

But don't get too excited, or worried, by these numbers.

In last year's special election for , University of Iowa Associate Political Science professor Tim Hagle said typically participate in early voting much more than Republicans.
