Police: Man Dies Following Assault at Red's

From Cedar Rapids Police:

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – June 8, 2013 – The Cedar Rapids Police responded to an Assault call at 1:27 am, on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Red’s Public House, 112 2 St SE.  When officers arrived, they found Justin Carey/32 of Cedar Rapids, unconscious in the street.

Mr. Carey died on Thursday, June 6, 2013. At the family’s request, Justin was kept on life support so his organs could be donated. Through his tragic death, others will benefit from the donation of his organs.

The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time in regards to this incident.

Two subjects were arrested at that time, unrelated to the fight. Drew Munson, 12/30/78, 2021 Bever Ave SE, and Christine Fasano, 10-06-86, 1515 Arizona Ave NE, were both arrested for Intoxication and taken to Linn County Jail.
