Police: Man Who Walked Away From Work Release Is Still At Large

Yesterday we reported that there was a by authorities, including Marion Police, in a cornfield in southeast Linn County.

At the time, officials did not disclose who they were looking for, or why they were looking for that person. Now, the Gazette is reporting that the search was concerning a man who had fled from work release.

Law enforcement searched the area that they believed the escapee to be,in a cornfield near the intersection of Highways 13 and 30, but they were unable to locate him.

Officials told the Gazette that he is not a threat to the public.
