Report: Man Flips Finger at America, Pulls Knife During Star Spangled Banner

Aaron Secor, 28, allegedly "swore at America" during the National Anthem and pulled a knife when asked to be quiet, during a Fourth of July fireworks display in Cedar Rapids.

A man was arrested after giving America the middle finger during the National Anthem at a Fourth of July fireworks show in Cedar Rapids on Thursday.

Aaron Secor, 28, also "swore at America" and pulled a knife, the Gazette reports citing Cedar Rapids Police. This happened just as the Freedom Festival fireworks display was getting underway at about 10:12 p.m. on the Second Avenue Bridge.

Officers on foot patrol saw a fight break out near the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, and that's when they encountered Secor.

They discovered he "raised his middle finger in the air during the National Anthem and 'swore at America'" and then when others asked him to be quiet down, Secor "allegedly continued to swear and pulled a knife," the Gazette reported citing police.

He was charged with disorderly conduct.
