Sheriff's: Woman Flown To Hospital After Pick-up Truck Slams Into Tree in Linn County Farm Field
Amanda R. Turner, 23 and a passenger in the pick-up truck, was flown by helicopter to the hospital but had non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, Shawn Port, 25, also of Central City, refused medical attention.
A vehicle accident on a Linn County farm field sent a Central City woman to the hospital on Thursday evening.

The driver, Shawn Port, 25, also of Central City, refused medical attention.

On Thursday 7/18/13 at 10:39p.m. Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Central City Ambulance, Central City F.D., and Lifeguard Helicopter, responded to a single vehicle personal injury accident on private property at 1300 Leona Ln., Linn County. Shawn Delbert Port 25yrs. old of 4212 Grow St. Central City, IA was driving a 2004 Ford pick-up in a farm field when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. Shawn D. Port refused medical attention at the scene. Amanda Rae Turner 23yrs. old also of 4212 Grow St., Central City and the only passenger in the pick-up was transported by Lifeguard Helicopter to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Shawn D. Port and his passenger Amanda R. Turner were not wearing their safety belts. The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
