St. Joseph's Announces Early Dissmissal; Linn-Mar, Marion Have Not

St. Joseph's Catholic School in Marion has announced an early dismissal due to the heat, but Linn-Mar and Marion Independent have not, so far.

Officials from in Marion announced an early dissmissal due to the heat for all students.

The school day will end 12:50 p.m. on Thursday.

The and school districts have not announced any plans to end the school day early.

The National Weather Service has called for a high of 95 in Marion. As of noon on Thursday it remains 83 degrees outside.

Busing at St. Joseph's have been canceled as well, in addition to afternoon preschool classes. However, the daycare will remain open.
