Swamp Fox Festival Starts Friday: Here's Your Schedule, List of Events and What's New
The celebration of the city of Marion, which has nothing to do with our spotlight-stealing neighbor to the west, begins this weekend.
It's that time of year again.
I don't pretend to have been around for last year's Swamp Fox Festival, but if there's one thing I've gathered over my time in Marion, it's that this celebration is essentially our city's Christmas and birthday party, minus wrapped presents.
The organizers of the event have already posted the full schedule and line-up of events, beginning with the inaugural Old Settler's Celebration Friday, starting at 10:30 a.m. at and ending with a new feature, fireworks, starting after 7:45 p.m. Sunday.

Note that the Indian Creek Canoe Float has been canceled, due to low water levels.Â
