All (Thankfully) Escape 5-Car Collision in Urbandale With No Serious Injuries or Deaths

A five-car crash is pretty rare, but what may be more unusual is that all (thankfully) seem to be OK.

The Des Moines Register reports that no one was seriously injured or killed, although some were taken to the hospital.

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Douglas Parkway and 70th Street in Urbandale. Randy Peterson, of the Urbandale Police Department, told the Register they are still piecing together exactly what happen and who was involved.

More from the Register:

Police are still trying to determine what led to the crash, Peterson said. One car went over another, and at least one person had to be extricated from a vehicle, he said.

Peterson said a few people were taken to the hospital, but the number, their injuries and conditions were not immediately known. More details will be available this afternoon, he said.
