Remy, Macarthy Named to Morningside College Dean's Honor List

SIOUX CITY, IA -- Several area students were named to the Dean's Honor List at Morningside College for the 2011 fall semester:

Emma Remy, daughter of Wayne and Lisa Remy of Urbandale, Iowa. Remy, a junior who is majoring in political science and business administration, is a past graduate of West Des Moines Valley High School. Remy had a perfect 4.00 grade point average for the semester.

Kyra Macarthy, daughter of Jon Macarthy of Urbandale, Iowa. Macarthy, a freshman at Morningside, is a past graduate of Waukee Community High School.

Each semester the Dean's Honor list recognizes students who achieve a 3.67 grade point average or better and complete at least 12 credits of course work with no grade below a "C-." William C. Deeds recently released the 2011 fall semester Dean's Honor List, and each student received a letter of recognition from Deeds.

Morningside College enrolled 2,047 full-time and part-time students for the 2011 fall term and welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds. Morningside offers five bachelor's degrees, including bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, bachelor of music education, and bachelor of nursing, and a master of arts in teaching career. The college was founded in 1894 by the Methodist Episcopal Church and remains affiliated with the United Methodist Church today.
