Catch Up Fast: Last Week on Urbandale Patch

Monday: 

Two-term Urbandale City Councilwoman Mary Polson decided to step down so she could travel more. That was before she became Urbandale Community Action Network's full-time program coordinator.

Seventeen people responded to a new Patch feature "Parents Talk" in which we ask parents for suggestions on how to limit the number of fundraisers their kids participate in. Look for a new question this week.

Tuesday:

Now that doctors have ruled out a spinal cord injury, Taylor Hale, the Waukee ninth-grader who is recovering from falling off the hood of a car, has started therapy, her mother posted on a website Tuesday night. 

Wednesday:

Anita Perry, Texas First Lady and the wife of presidential candidate Rick Perry, spoke to a group in Urbandale Wednesday morning and defended her husband's debate performances.

Thursday:

Dave Mable, a popular amateur athlete around the metro area, was arraigned in federal court Wednesday afternoon on a federal indictment that accuses him and three other men of a conspiracy to commit mortgage fraud.

Friday:

Urbandale Police release a 911 recording that details how a Polk County Sheriff's dispatcher talks to a 4-year-old Urbandale boy for nearly 15 minutes to get help for "Mommy" Thursday afternoon. 

 Saturday:

Urbandale J-Hawks were defeated by the Southeast Polk Rams, 35-7. See a photo gallery of the football game.
