Cupcakes As Lobbying Tool: Urbandale Morning Report 2/22

  • Give these Iowa College Republicans credit for a sweet idea: They gave cupcakes to people who could show a photo I.D. at the state Capitol to illustrate that a bill requiring the I.D.s to vote isn't onerous. Radio Iowa has the story. 
  • Urbandale will play Valley and Johnston, but not Waukee under next year's football schedule under the new CIML divisions. The schedules area on DesMoinesRegister.com.
  • While the state's legislators are considering whether to ban traffic cameras, Iowa City City Council approved an ordinance to allow the cameras, according to KCCI.com
  • Do you like to camp? Then you might want to reserve your Memorial Day spot at an Iowa state park on Saturday. That's the first day you can do so under the state's reservation system.
