Des Moines Metro, Minneapolis Square Off in Weather Channel's Toughest Weather City Tournament 2013

In the spirit of March Madness and the NCAA Basketball Tournament, Des Moines and Minneapolis are up against each other in the Weather Channel's own bracket of competition.

The Des Moines metro is vying against Minneapolis in the Weather Channel's own version of March Madness.

In honor of the NCAA Basketball Tournament, weather.com picked 64 cities, placing them in four regions (West, South, Midwest, Northeast). Through early April, your votes will pick America's Toughest Weather City.

Voting for the Midwest region, which includes Des Moines and Minneapolis, kicked off today. Printable brackets can be found on the Weather Channel's website. Second-round voting begins Thursday.
