Did Big Mac Attack Cause Urbandale Man's Fast-Food Fistfight?

Police said an Urbandale man's decision to cut in front of other hungry customers in the drive-thru lane led to violence.

If it was a Big Mac attack that caused Travis Richard Houseman to allegedly cut in front of other hungry drive-through diners and engage in a fistfight with one of them, he didn’t tell that early Sunday morning.

In fact, Houseman, 22, of 13110 Tanglewood Drive, Urbandale, didn’t tell police much of anything when they responded to the at 745 51st St. about 2 a.m. in response to a fight.

Officer Aaron Swenson, who received minor injuries that did not require medical treatment when he broke up a fight, alleged in his report that Houseman was uncooperative and swore at officers as they tried to piece together the details of the incident. Swenson said Houseman struggled with him as he attempted to handcuff Houseman and another officer had to assist.

A witness, who was not involved in the fisticuffs, alleged that Houseman pulled ahead of other motorists waiting in the drive-through lane. That reportedly made Nathan Wesley Dannen, 30 of 1221 S. 95th St. mad enough to confront Houseman. According to the report, Houseman’s passenger, Brandon Ross Porter, 23, of 3929 65th St., Urbandale, began fighting with Dannen.

Both drivers face alcohol-related charges. Houseman was charged with operating while under the influence, first offense, and interference with official acts. Dannen was charged with operating while under the influence, second offense, and disorderly conduct. Porter was charged with disorderly conduct.
