Drug and Alcohol Arrests: Urbandale Police Blotter
The good news: There was no burglary at Mama Lacona's. The bad news: the burglar alarm still got the janitor arrested

The Urbandale arrests below are preliminary criminal charges. They do not represent convictions or court resolutions.Â
Joseph E. Wilson, 55, Waukee, had the misfortune of setting off the burglar alarm as he was cleaning early in the morning on June 21. As police were responding to the alarm, the first officer to arrive noticed Wilson's white van leaving the area at 3:31 a.m., so he radioed other officers to watch for the van.
They did and noticed that Wilson did not give a "continuous turn signal" and stopped him. He was charged with the turn signal violation, driving with an open container of alcohol, and first-offense drunken driving.
