Faith Lutheran Church raises over $1,800 for local food pantry

Event part of Hunger Awareness Month

Clive—Members of Faith Lutheran Church raised $1,813.57 for the Des Moines Area Religious Council’s Food Pantry through what the congregation lovingly dubbed, “Noisy Offering”.

Children collected loose change using metal buckets during with every drop in the buckets going to benefit neighbors in need. The collection was part of the part of the Hunger Awareness Month events at Faith. Other events included packaging meals with Meals from the Heartland and collecting non-perishable food items.

More emphasis was placed on collecting cash than food items because goes six times dollar with DMARC than it does at our local grocery stores! The Meals from the Heartland effort was also very important because the packaged meals are used in our local food pantries.
