Governor Reynolds Lifts Bar Closures In 4 Counties, Including Polk And Dallas

The proclamation is now in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020.

Today, Governor Reynolds signed a new proclamation, effective at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, which permits bars, taverns, wineries, breweries, distilleries, night clubs to reopen in four counties, including Polk and Dallas to reopen. It also removes the restrictions on hours that alcohol may be sold in restaurants in those counties.

It also clarifies the social distancing requirements that apply to bars and restaurants throughout the state. Essentially, all patrons must have a seat at a table, booth or bar and must consume their food or beverage while seated at the table, booth, or bar. Establishments must limit patrons from congregating together closer than six feet.

The closures and service restrictions on restaurants and bars from the Governor’s earlier proclamation remain in place for bars and restaurants in Story and Johnson Counties through September 20, 2020.
