Karen Acres School Has Bittersweet Celebration

students and parents gave retiring principal Patty Schlotterbeck a standing ovation at the school's end-of-year assembly Tuesday.

Many parents had tears in their eyes while honoring Schotterbeck who is leaving the school at the end of the year. Some about that and want to speak to the Urbandale School Board at its June 11 meeting.

PTA President Brad Ortmeier presented Schlotterbeck with a bouquet of flowers, thanking her for everything.  

Students made presentations as well at the annual event.
