Medical Examiner Doesn't Know What Killed Baby At Sitter's Home
The cause of 13-month-old Emma Bright's May 25 death at the home of her Urbandale babysitter has been ruled undetermined.

The Polk County Medical Examiner could not find a cause of death for 13-month-old Emma Bright, who died May 25 at the home of her Urbandale babysitter.
Urbandale Police spokesman Randy Peterson said the medical examiner's investigation showed no signs of trauma to the baby and nothing in the toxicology report showed drugs in her system or a clue to why she died.
He said the medical examiner is ruling the cause of death as undetermined.
Police have closed the death investigation.

When found that the child was not breathing shortly after 4 p.m. that  Friday, she ran to the home of a neighbor, Lynne VanWyk, and asked her to call 911. Apparently, Kimmer's phone was not working.
Kimmer, 4512 83rd St., and VanWyk ran back to the house and the dispatcher coached VanWyk on giving the girl CPR. There was blood coming from the child's nose and she was blue, VanWyk told the dispatcher.
