Men Beating Women: Urbandale Police Blotter 2/4
Urbandale police investigated three alleged cases of domestic violence last week.

Police Investigate 3 Domestic Assault Cases in Past Week
Two Urbandale men were arrested on domestic assault charges last week and a third woman reported that she had been assaulted by an ex-boyfriend.

Brian Crees, 43, of 6713 Madison Ave., was arrested on charges of domestic assault with injury of a 39-year-old woman, obstruction of emergency communication and possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 31.
According to police reports, he allegedly grabbed the phone from the woman so she couldn't call police and punched her. She had head injuries and a scratch on her arm, but did not want emergency medical treatment. Crees is being held in the Polk County Jail on a bond of $5,000 for his third or subsequent domestic violence charge.

Nestor Cassillas, 19, was charged with domestic assault  with injury on Jan. 30. A police reports said the Cassillas came home intoxicated and allegedly punched a 19-year-old woman in the face. She had a bloody nose and a cut lip.Â
Also on Jan. 30, a 34-year-old Urbandale woman reported that she was assaulted by an ex-boyfriend at her apartment at 2516 Camelot Drive. No arrests have been made.

Jan. 19
A 14-year-old girl reported that her iTouch was stolen from the lunch room/commons area at Urbandale High School. The device was recovered from a 15-year-old boy.
Jan. 24
A 16-year-old Urbandale High School student reported that she was choked and assaulted by another 16-year-old girl in an altercation after school.
Jan. 30
Misty A. Peden, 24, of Rock Springs, WY, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Interstate Highway 80.
A 34-year-old man reported at burglary at a home at 4325 70th St.
A 14-year-old girl reported that her cell phone was taken from the lunchroom at Urbandale High School.
Jan. 31
John W. Goodsell, 37, of Des Moines, was arrested on outstanding arrest warrants from Des Moines.
A 13-year-old girl reported that her iTouch MP3 player was stolen at Urbandale Middle School.
A 21-year-old Urbandale woman reported that her car was scratched with a key while it was parked at 2407 Beverly Drive.
A 48-year-old man reported a burglary at 7412 Wilden Drive. When the man came home from work, he found that his front door has been forced open and his house was ransacked. His television and pay stubs, as well as bank deposit slips, were stolen.
