New learn to swim facility opens in Urbandale

Goldfish Swim School, the country’s leading water safety and swim lesson school offering infant and child swim lessons, officially cut the ribbon on a new 9,500 square foot Urbandale, Iowa location. The newest addition to the Goldfish Swim School family began welcoming swimmers into the pool on February 11, 2020.

Located at 3771 86th Street, Goldfish Swim School Urbandale offers a wide range of swimming classes for all ages and skill levels at times that are convenient for every family’s schedule.

Director of Operations Scott Wegner says, “We understand how important water safety is to all families and we are excited to bring the Goldfish curriculum, high quality instruction and state-of-the-art facility to families in the Des Moines area.”

Goldfish Swim School Urbandale is a resource for all local families. “Our team wants to ensure that children in our community have a safe, fun, and friendly place to learn this life-saving skill,” adds General Manager Anne O’Rear.

Goldfish Swim School Urbandale provides indoor, year-round swim instruction to children ages 4 months to 12 years-old in a family-friendly setting with highly trained instructors, small class sizes (max 4:1 student to teacher ratio), shiver-free 90-degree pools, and a state-of-the-art water purification system. Families with kids of different ages and skill levels can conveniently have all of their swimmers in the pool during the same half hour time slot and schedule makeup classes when necessary. Goldfish offers perpetual lessons and families can enroll at any time.

In addition to swim lessons, Goldfish Swim School offers weekly family swims (for both members and non-members) and party packages. Facility highlights include an air-conditioned viewing gallery for parents to watch lessons, individual/private changing rooms, a blow dry station, snack bar, retail shop and warm, tropical décor.
