One More Reason to Buckle Up and Designate a Sober Driver
Polk County law enforcement will be patrolling tonight, looking for seatbelt violations and drunken drivers.
Not that you shouldn't drive sober and safely anyway, but tonight you may have extra incentive.
The Central Iowa Traffic Safety Task Force and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau have scheduled a multi-jurisdictional traffic enforcement project this evening.
Officers from agencies in central Iowa will be patrolling the northern part of Polk County focusing on impaireddrivers and seatbelt usage. Motorists are encouraged to designate a sober driver prior to visiting an event where alcohol will be present, says a news release from the Polk County Sheriff's office.
