Man Released From Jail Following Super Bowl Head-Butt

Troy Klein, 28, of Urbandale, is out of jail after being arrested on Super Bowl Sunday on charges of domestic assault with injury, false imprisonment, child endangerment and obstruction of emergency communication. 

Klein was at home at 4418 152nd St. watching the Super Bowl on Feb. 6 when his girlfriend returned home from an outing with friends, according to a police report.

Klein was home with the couple's month-old baby and was reportedly angry with his girlfriend. "He ends up headbutting her," said Lt. Rob Johansen. "Left a big goose egg on her forehead."

The assault allegedly occurred while the woman was holding their child.

Johnansen said the investigating officers' report noted that Klein took the woman's cell phone away so she could not call for help and when she wanted to leave held her down on the ground.
