Teen Alleges Carjacking, Armed Robbery in Urbandale

An 18-year-old man said he was robbed a gunpoint in Urbandale earlier this month.

An 18-year-old Urbandale man reported he was carjacked and robbed at gunpoint while trying to get some fast food.

The man told police he was in his car, counting out his money, before he went through the McDonalds' drive-through lane in the 4800 block of Northwest Urbandale Drive at about 11 p.m. March 12 when two men walked up to his parked car.

One of the men reportedly had a handgun and forced the 18-year-old to let them into his car and drive across the road to the SuperTarget, where they met several more men.

The robbers took his billfold, keys, cellphone and his car, a Chevy Monte Carlo. The man walked back across the street to the restaurant where he called police.

No arrests have been made in the case, according to police reports.
