Urbandale Citizen University Will Explore Ethical Leadership

The course will focus on communication, mindset, habits and accountability for ethical leadership in everyday interactions with people.

URBANDALE, IA — A free session on Ethical Leadership in Action will be offered tonight through the Urbandale Citizen University program. Participants will explore the concept of integrity, character competencies necessary for excellence, and core leadership strategies to put ethical leadership into action.

The course runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Urbandale High School. Participants will learn strategies for communication, mindset, habits and accountability necessary for ethical leadership in everyday interactions with people.

Scott Raecker of Urbandale, director of the Robert D. & Billie Ray Center at Drake University — formerly known as Character Counts — will lead the course. Raecker served in the legislature for 14 years and was chairman of the House Appropriations and Ethics committees. He is also involved in numerous civic volunteer efforts such as serving on the board of the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Drake University School of Education, and Shining City Foundation. He is certified as a character development specialist and corporate ethics trainer through the Josephson Institute.
