Urbandale celebrates its centennial this year and the mayoral State of the City address will highlight growth and upcoming projects.

URBANDALE, IA. -- Urbandale Mayor Bob Andeweg will deliver a historic State of the City address on Thursday when he makes a formal presentation at Urbandale City Hall Council Chambers, 3600 86th St. This year marks Urbandale’s centennial.
The mayor’s presentation at 6 p.m. will “recap the work that the community has accomplished in recent years to position Urbandale for continued prosperity and a high quality of life,” according to a news release.
Andeweg, giving his first State of the City address from council chambers, also will give information on public improvement projects in Urbandale’s future. The address comes the same week as the city will unveil a new brand campaign for the Interstate 35-80 interchange projects and area development.
