Urbandale Mom Asks for Police Help With Daughter

Samantha A. Merfeld, 22, of Urbandale was charged with public intoxication on June 27.

Police were called to a home in the 8100 block of Walnut Creek Drive to assist in a dispute between a mother and her adult daughter, who was reportedly intoxicated, said Lt. Rob Johansen.

By the time police arrived, the daughter had left the house. Sometime later, she came back toward the home from the recreational trail beside the home. When police were trying to talk to her "she was not cooperative," so she was arrested, said Johansen.
