Urbandale New Year's Day Fire: Cause Remains Unknown
The fire began Monday afternoon in an attic at the Plumwood Terrace Condominiums. No injuries were reported.
URBANDALE, IA — A New Year's Day fire at a condominium complex began in an attic but the cause of the fire remains unknown this morning. No injuries were reported.
Flames extended through the roof by the time firefighters arrived at the fire i the 4800 block of Northwest 86th Street. The fire was reported at approximately 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Urbandale Assistant Fire Chief Scott Lyon told WHO-TV the extreme cold caused one hydrant to malfunction and caused several hose nozzles to break.
