Urbandale Police Blotter: More New Year's Arrests

Here are some of the arrests and incidents reported to the Urbandale Police Department.

The Urbandale arrests below are preliminary criminal charges. They do not represent convictions or court resolutions. 

Dec. 29: Three 16-year-old Urbandale boys were charged with marijuana possession after someone reported suspicious behavior in the parking area of St. Andrews Apartments, 3201 86th St.

A 26-year-old Clive man reported that his car stereo system was stolen from his vehicle Dec. 29 while it was parked at the Urbandale Super Target store.

Dec. 30: A 24-year-old Urbandale woman reported that a computer was stolen from her car at 14402 Briarwood Lane.

Jan. 1: Police broke up an underage drinking party shortly after midnight in the 3800 block of 79th Street. A total of five 16- and 17-year-olds from Urbandale, West Des Moines and Des Moines were charged with illegal possession of alcohol, two of them were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and one was charged with possession of marijuana.

Six 17-year-olds from Urbandale, Des Moines and Windsor Heights were charged with illegal alcohol possession at a party in the 4200 block of 62nd Street on Jan. 1.

Clinton R. Smith, 25, a nurse from West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense drunken driving and failure to stop after his car struck another in the 11500 block of Hickman Road, slightly injuring a 32-year-old woman.

Jan. 3: James E. Glaspie, 37, of Des Moines, was charged with aggravated assault after a Dec. 15 fight with two other men.

An employe of Savannah Homes reported the theft of construction materials from a construction site at 4138 145th St.

Jan. 4: Timothy G. Jenkins, 36, of Urbandale, was charged with violation of a no-contact order with his girlfriend.
