Urbandale Police Blotter: New Year's Arrests
Here are the arrests and crime reports filed with the Urbandale Police Department through Jan. 2.

The Urbandale arrests below are preliminary criminal charges. They do not represent convictions or court resolutions.
Monday: Clinton Ray Smith, 25, of West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense drunken driving and failure to stop within a clear distance.

Saturday:Â Twenty Occupy the Caucuses protesters were arrested on trespassing charges at presidential campaign headquarters in Iowa.
Dec. 29: Â Christopher Sean Austin, 40, of Clive was charged with second-offense drunken driving and speeding in the 8700 block of Hickman Road.

Haris Karajic, 18, of Urbandale, was charged with receiving stolen property. Karajic and a younger teenager were charged with burglary early in December in connection with a rash of thefts from unlocked cars. The charge is an additional one in that case.
Two GPS devices were reported stolen out of vehicles parked inside a garage at 8812 Iltis Drive. The garage door was open.
Tools valued at $160 were reported stolen from a vehicle owned by Miller Construction at 4431 86th St.
The Iglesia Pentecostal Tabernaculo De Jesus, 8105 Douglas Ave., reported a forged check by a 44-year-old Clive woman. No arrest was reported in the case.
Dec. 28: Four intoxicated 17-year-olds were referred to juvenile authorities for after police broke up a teenage drinking party in the 3600 block of 64th Street.
