Urbandale Police Blotter: Thefts and Harassment
Be careful with your belongings at the Urbandale Library. Some patrons said a man was going through their belongings in a study room.

Jan. 13
Patrons at the Urbandale Public Library reported an attempted theft. Library patrons using a study room stepped out for a few minutes and came back to the room to find an man estimated to be in his 30s going through their personal belongings. The man was not identified and no arrest was made.

A 29-year-old woman reported receiving a harassing phone call at her apartment.
Zachary R. Kendall, 22, of Des Moines was arrested in the 5700 block of Aurora and charged with second-offense drunken driving and making an illegal U-turn.

A 42-year-old man reported vandalism to his car at 4520 83rd St.
Jan. 17
A 63-year-old woman reported that her home at 3670 66th St. was burglarized.
A 65-year-old Urbandale woman reported that she is receiving harassing text messages from a former roommate.
Officials at Arby's Restaurant, 2919 100th St., reported theft by a store employee is suspected. No charges have been filed.
