Urbandale Police Officer Receives Congressional Tribute

The honors keep coming for an Urbandale police officer.

Officer Zac McDowell was honored by congressman Tom Latham on Friday, March 22 for his heroic acts of pulling an unconscious teen from a burning car in early March.

Latham presented McDowell with a Congressional Tribute for his lifesaving actions.

McDowell and Iowa State University student, Nick Schroeder, who was participating in a ride-along with McDowell, pulled 18-year-old Ian Waseskuk to safety after the teen crashed his car into a air conditioning unit at Urbandale Baptist Church on Sunday, March 10.
