Urbandale Resident is New NAACP Chief for Iowa-Nebraska
Arnold Woods of Urbandale takes over for the Rev. Keith Ratliff, who resigned earlier this month over the NAACP's support for same-sex marriage.

Arnold Woods, of Urbandale, is the new NAACP vice president for the Iowa-Nebraska region, according to WOW-TV in Omaha.
Woods, 64, is the director of financial aid for Grinnell College. He succeeds Ratliff, a Baptist minister who opposes same-sex marriage and who resigned after the national NAACP board voted to support it.
Woods told WOW-TV he supported the national NAACP board. "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and then we follow the dictates of the national board."
