Urbandale Restaurant Owner Charged With Choking His Wife

Thai S. Leng, owner ofin Urbandale, was arrested Sunday night at his restaurant at 3107 100th St.

Police received a call about 6 p.m. Sunday night and went to the restaurant. They charged Leng, of West Des Moines, with simple domestic assault and obstruction of emergency communication.

Police records indicate that Leng's 46-year-old wife said he grabbed her around the neck, tried to choke her, and tried to keep her from using the phone to call for help. 

The police report indicates that Leng was intoxicated when he was arrested.
