Urbandale's Douglas Avenue Closures This Week

The City of Urbandale will be placing an asphalt overlay on Douglas Avenue between 100th Street and 111th Street until Thursday night, June 28, this week.

The road is scheduled to close at 8 p.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. each day between those intersections.

Traffic will be detoured onto Northwest Urbandale Drive, Meredith Drive and 114th Street. 

86th and Douglas Intersection

The construction at the intersection of Douglas and 86th Street also will get a little more complicated on Wednesday.

You may have noticed construction at the intersection for the past couple of weeks. The city is adding turn lanes at the intersection.

On Wednesday, June 27, the outside traffic lane on 86th Street for northbound traffic at the intersection with Douglas Avenue will be closed for utility relocations.

128th Street Construction

The city will be paving the southbound lanes of 128th Street between Hickman Road and Douglas Parkway on Wednesday and Thursday.

Only one lane of traffic will be open between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on those days. Flaggers will stop traffic and motorists are encouraged to avoid this road on those days to avoid delays.
