Urbandale School Board to Look at Elementary Schools
In a public work session before its regularly scheduled meeting Monday evening, the Urbandale School Board will consider the district's six elementary schools in the wake of the end of a 10-year school renovation plan.

The Urbandale School Board will have a public work session on the district's elementary schools from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the .
The focus will be on the demographics of each elementary and its building, according to the agenda released Friday.Â
School Superintentendent Doug Stilwell noted in a memo to board members that since the district spent its sales tax money to build a new high school, remodel the middle school and build one new elementary school, it may be time to do a comprehensive study of the remaining five elementary schools.

He invited representatives from the DLR Group, an architectural design company, and RSP & Associates, a school planning consulting firm, to speak to board members.
The board will adjourn from 6:30 to 7 p.m. During its regularly scheduled meeting, Patty Schlotterbeck, principal at to update the board on the school's status as a school in need of assistance under No Child Left Behind guidelines.
