"I ran up to the trauma room, and they have a white board outside the ER and it said a little about patients," Lisa Witt told KCCI. "And it said a 17-year-old skate board accident, and I just knew. I knew it was him. I've been doing this 32 years, and you just can't prepare when it's your own child. It's a mother's worst nightmare."

Brandon is now urging other teens to wear helmets and be cautious on skateboards.
