Weather Alert: Urbandale

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for today, warning of high temperatures of 100 degrees.

The heat index - a measure of heat and humidity - will be as high as 103. The only good news is there will be a south-southwest breeze between 13 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. 

It should cool down tonight, with a predicted low of 77 and winds of 9 to 15 mph.

The high on Thursday is predicted to be sunny and a high of 99 degrees.

Thursday night there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low around 77.
