How Does a Traffic Stop Turn Into a Trip to Jail?
One Urbandale man found out over the weekend.

The Urbandale arrests below are preliminary criminal charges. They do not represent convictions or court resolutions.Â
Urbandale Police stopped Robert A. Dickerson, 55, of Urbandale on a routine traffic stop at about 10:30 p.m. Friday. Dickerson was driving in the 6600 block of Urbandale Road.
But what might have been a simple traffic ticket turned into a trip to the Polk County Jail when the officer discovered that Dickerson had lost his license because of previous offenses, according to police reports. He was charged with driving while barred and taken to jail.

Monday, June 11: Mary Louise Paredes, 55, of Des Moines, was charged with forging documents.
Wednesday, June 13: Joshua H. Martin, 54, of Urbandale was charged with third-degree theft.

Saturday, June 16: Adam J. Szymczuk, 28, of Urbandale was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested at an apartment in the 10100 block of Sutton Drive.Â
