When is Iowa's Annual Sales Tax Holiday?

Mark your calendars now so you don't miss shopping on the two days a year when back-to-school items can be purchased without paying Iowa sales tax.

Iowa's annual sales-tax holiday on back to school items is Friday, Aug. 3, and Saturday, Aug. 4, this year.

This is the 13th year of the holiday, which was designed to give parents a bit of a break on back-to-school costs.

Not only are most school items -- school supplies, clothing, shoes, etc. -- exempt from the sales tax, but most retailers run big sales on those items.
