Woman Charged with Prescription Fraud at Urbandale Councilman's Pharmacy
An Urbandale woman is in jail, accused of trying to have a fraudulent prescription filled.

Employees at , 7641 Douglas Ave., reported that a woman tried to have a fraudulent prescription filled on Tuesday.
The pharmacy is owned by City Councilman John Forbes, who later that night had a kick-off event for his campaign for the Iowa House of Representatives.Â
Forbes received a called-in prescription for the painkilled Vicodin and noticed that it was a repeat call for the person. When he called the doctor's office back, they said they had not called in the prescription, said Lt. Rob Johansen.

Detectives began to investigate and discovered that other pharmacies had received similar calls.
Police searched the home Katherine A. Guthrie, 40, of Urbandale and she was charged with prescription fraud, possession with the intent to deliver drugs and violating the drug tax stamp law, he said.

Guthrie was taken to the Polk County Jail.Â
