Woman's Accident Was 'No Accident' She Tells Urbandale Police

Police went to the scene of a reported accident and found no car or victim. They found the driver at the Dragon House restaurant.

Urbandale police took a 31-year-old Dexter woman to the hospital for a mental evaluation on May 20 after she told them she drove her car off the road in a suicide attempt.

Police initially received a call from a passerby who said there was a rollover accident on 111th Street just south of Douglas Avenue. But when police and medics arrived, they could not find any accident.

Medics said they saw a woman walking near the a few blocks away, so they went back there and found the woman inside the restaurant, said Lt. Rob Johansen.
