Zaun Seeks Re-election to Revised Urbandale-Johnston Senate District

Senate Republican Brad Zaun wants to continue working on job creation and reducing the size of government

PRESS RELEASE

Iowa Senate Republican Whip Brad Zaun of Urbandale officially filed his nomination petitions and statement of candidacy with Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz today to run for re-election to the Iowa Senate. Zaun will run to represent the newly drawn Senate District 20, which includes all of the cities of Urbandale, Johnston and Grimes in Polk County.

First elected to the Iowa Senate in 2004, Zaun said he is running for a third term in order to continue his firm commitment to more private sector jobs for Iowans, less government spending, lower taxes and world class education.

“When we take the steps necessary to reduce spending, remove onerous regulations, cut taxes and revitalize our education system, that is when we will start seeing more Iowans get jobs and those priorities are what will continue to be my focus as state senator,” said Zaun, director of marketing and sales at West Des Moines-based Grapnel Tech Services.

A former Urbandale mayor and city councilman, Zaun formerly owned and operated of Zaun's Trustworthy Hardware and worked as vice president of R&R Realty. An avid runner who enjoys attending his children’s activities, Zaun is married to Dede and has five children: Zac, Bailey, Drew, Greyson and Devon.
